To the Homeland…
Not sure if you saw our "Clan" at Steam Engine Days, but we're kind of big, loud and hard to miss! So don't miss out on the opportunity to party "Mabel Style" with us once again!
This weekend we are hitting Highway 52 again and heading south back to my homeland. On Saturday there will be a benefit held at the Mabel Legion for my cousin, Nate. Everyone is highly encouraged to attend this event, as it is going to be a rockin good time! Here is the short bio that Nate’s family put on the events Facebook page…
“Nate has battled with eosinophilic esophagitis much of his life. His esophagus is the size of a pencil with no muscles to move food through it. This spring he was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and had to have his thyroid removed. He has been battling with the ups and downs of regulating medications ever since. The Dr’s have now found more nodules in his throat that he is currently waiting to find out if they are benign or need to be removed.”
It will start off at 10:00 am with registration for the Bean Bag Tournament, the tournament will then kick off at 11:00. It doesn’t matter how good you are, and you don’t need to be scared that you will be humiliated as the first team disqualified, because I’m pretty sure my sister and I will take that award. From 11-2 there will be lunch served at the Legion and dinner from 2-6. There will be a silent auction spanning from 1-5, and that is certainly something you don’t want to miss, the auction includes quite a few awesome items. For all of my farmer and agricultural pals out there, my employer, Al Kluis, has donated two one-year subscriptions to his grain marketing services—-don’t miss out on an opportunity to grab this $780 subscription for a killer price! And for all of you fashionistas out there, you can bid on some jewelry from Simlie Springs.
The auctions will go from 1-5 (silent) and 5-8 (live) and will be followed with a dance with music provided by DJ Guido! Hope everyone can make it out for the event, it is sure to be a fun time and we would greatly appreciate seeing you there!
