My Fitness Pal…
My Fitness Pal? More like My Fitness Genius! I owe a huge round of applause to my friend L who recently told me about the site My Fitness Pal. This site is amazing for tracking your food and calorie intake as well as your progress. Not only that, but their adjustable security and sharing options make you as accountable as you want to be. If you do well, meet your calorie goals, and lose weight, it will tell all of your friends via Facebook and Twitter—but it does the same if you slip up!
My favorite feature is being able to control what it tracks. By going to My Home —> Settings —> Diary Settings you can set exactly what types of nutrition facts are tracked for you (I set mine to add sodium, since low sodium is a vital part of my diet). I wish it gave you more control over how you balance out your diet. Since I’m on a high protein, low carb diet, my journal often shows that I am way over in protein but have a deficit in carbs. Either way it is easy to track and view my progress, and their database for foods is one of the most thorough I have seen—so far there hasn’t been one food that I haven’t been able to find!
